How do u flirt with someone? a shy guy especially?

i know it probably sounds kinda stupid but im pretty clueless when it comes to flirting..even if i am a girl i just dont know how to successfully flirt. my friends say all the time just flirt and im like guys, im not good at that i just dont know what to do..:/

if he's shy he probably isn't very confident so assuming you are attractive just talk to him and he'll probably take it as your hitting on him
