I don't understand. So many people talk about just flirting for fun, but isn't that just teasing the other person? How are they supposed to know that you are just flirting for fun and not really interested in going out on a date?Why would you flirt with someone if you didn't want to go out with them?

A) Its light hearted fun, as long as you/ the other person know thats waht it is.





B) It can increase your self confidence, and lets face it who doesnt want to be loved.





C) To get something you want, e.g discount on a product





D) A lot of the time when people say they were just joking whilst flirting (unless buying something), really they are testing the water.





If you think someone is being a 'flirt' ive always found the best thing is to flirt back, never back down and you will come out on top with either them getting embaressed or getting your end away.
Good question. You don't know till you ask them what their true intentions are... Or until you get reject'd... Some people have fun toying with someone else's emotions. That's cruel. Others flirt mutually because they find the other person attractive %26amp;%26amp; it's just like talking but more exciting. A way of acknowledging the fact that someone IS attractive yes, but they do not want to go out with them at the moment or at all.
I guess it's a matter of a maturity level.

I agree with it being fun but I can have bad results in the end. I had it done some many times to me, but when I do it I just feel so bad. I want to see a future with someone not a fling or waste of time. :(
a lot of people don't realize that they are flirting. they are what is called ';complete flirts';. they flirt non stop and don't even know they are doing it, its what they do. and you never really know. if you are interested in that way, flirt hard. if not, back off a bit.

So true. I'd rather not be flirted with unless it meant something, and my ex likes to flirt all the time just to get attention, so I don't appreciate that.
